E-Choreographers / E-Collaborators
(Emerging Choreographers / Emerging Collaborators)
Candidates are selected based on experience and the quality of their previous work. Choreographers will audition dancers from among project participants on the first evening of the project. Subsequent rehearsals are held in the evenings. These creations will be presented at the final showing
Emerging Choreographers may choose to have the mentorship of Paula De Vasconcelos, Artistic Director of Pigeons International wwwpigeonsinternational.com
This year we offer the following unique opportunities for selected choreographers and collaborators:
1) An E-Choreographer will create a six minute work on SBDM dancers
2) An E-Choreographer may collaborate with an E-Theatre Director to create a six minute work on SBDM dancers
3) An E-Choreographer may create a twenty-minute installation, with SBDM dancers
How to apply to be an E-Choreographer:
In your cover letter please include a short paragraph on why you wish to be selected as an E-Choreographer. Also indicate whether you wish to attend as a choreographer or as a choreographer/dancer in Springboard Danse Montreal.
To apply as an E-Choreographer only send:
• 1DVD of your most recent work
• 1 Choreographic CV
• A brief description of your proposed project for Springboard
• 1 Letter of recommendation as a choreographer
• $30 CDN or US in cash (or $US 60 in International money order for candidates from outside of North America)
To apply as an E-Choreographer and as a Dancer send:
• 1DVD of your most recent work.
• 1 Choreographic CV
• A brief description of your proposed project for Springboard
• 1 Letter of recommendation as a choreographer
• 1 DVD as a dancer containing two contrasting pieces of choreography or improvisation, each two minutes maximum in length
• 2 Copies of your CV as a dancer
• 2 Photos (Headshot)
• 2 copies of your letter of recommendation as a dancer
• $30 CDN or US in cash (or $US 60 in International money order for candidates from outside of North America)
